Seasons of Heaven, a new game from Californian indie developer, Any Arts Productions, has been announced as one of the first Nintendo Switch exclusives.
The game is based on a French novel of the same name by Nico Augusto (who is also listed as Creative Director for the game), and will follow a group of survivors in a barren, beautiful post-apocalyptic world, brief snippets of which can be seen in the teaser trailer embedded below. Within these ethereal landscapes, players will take control of Yann, a young boy suffering from Asperger’s syndrome, and his bulldog, Ani, both of whom can be briefly glimpsed at the end of the video.
No gameplay footage or or details have yet been released, although Gameblog.fr says that the two playable characters will each have different gameplay mechanics. Seasons of Heaven is being developed with Unreal Engine 4, making it one of the first games on Nintendo’s new hardware to use the engine.
A full trailer for the game will follow early next week, while Gameblog.fr has promised an exclusive interview with the developers, where more explicit information will be revealed.
As for the Nintendo Switch itself, little is known about the device beyond its portable/console hybridity has been announced, though more details are expected during the first hands-on event, which is currently set to take place in mid-January. OnlySP expects to be present at that event to provide coverage and impressions from Nintendo’s newest piece of hardware.
Seasons of Heaven is currently without a release date, but OnlySP will follow its development closely.
