343 Releases New Halo 5: Guardians Artwork, Teasing a Deeper Focus on Lore?

0

The Halo universe is a huge one, and if you’ve taken the time to read the books you know that there are a large number of fascinating characters in the universe that have largely been exempt from the main games in the franchise.

Based on some new artwork released by 343 today, however, it looks like that may change with the upcoming sequel. It’s been a while since I read the books, but if you’ve read Halo: First Strike, you’d remember that Master Chief, or John, had a few team members by his side through out the book.

The Spartan Blue team (pictured below), apparently includes all three of John’s companions from that book: Linda, Kelly and Fred. This hasn’t been confirmed by 343 yet, but a thread on Reddit seems to be more than 100% sure that’s indeed who those characters are.

The second picture released is just as surprising as the one above. According to another thread on Reddit, the members included Spartan Red Team (pictured below) are Locke, Buck and Romeo from Halo 3: ODST and Macer from the recently released Halo: Nightfall series.

Again, none of this has been confirmed by 343, but if anyone knows who it is, it’s probably the Xbox/Halo community on Reddit. Those people know more about the Halo Universe than I’d ever hope to. Guess I need to start reading more books.

We’ll be sure to update you again when we get confirmation on just who exactly is pictured above, but from the looks and sounds of it, 343 is going to dive deeper into the Halo Universe than we’ve ever gone before, and that’s really exciting.

Let us know what you think of the pictures above and if the Reddit community is correct in whose depicted in the pictures above. Stay tuned to OnlySP on Facebook and Twitter for further details on Halo 5: Guardians as they’re released.
