4A Games is moving to Malta to get away from all the action happening in the Ukraine so they can continue to develop video games.
According to a report today on Polygon, 4A is moving their studio to Malta to continue work on their multiple projects they currently have in progress. As we know, one of those projects in Metro: Redux, which is the remastered versions of Metro: 2033 and Last Light which will be heading to next-gen consoles.
However, it sounds like there might be more in store for the Metro universe as Co-founder Andrew Prokhorov confirmed that the studio,”continues to work on un-announced titles within the Metro universe as well as further, un-announced projects”
Head of business development Dean Sharpe talked about the move to Malta saying, “Malta offers fantastic incentives for game development, and we are confident 4A Games will be able to attract the very best talent from Ukraine, Malta and beyond.”
Deep Silver revealed last week that they will be announcing a few new triple A titles at E3 so hopefully we’ll see the new project from 4A there. I’m sure we’ll get our first look at a next-gen Saints Row as well, but personally I’m more excited for what 4A has to reveal, especially if it’s that possible open world title they’ve been cracking away on. 4A are masterful environment builders, so any open world game from them would be super exciting to explore.
