X-One magazine recently had a chance to sit down and interview the lead actor of the upcoming Halo: Nightfall TV series, Mike Colter, who plays Agent Locke in the show, about his possible playable role in Halo 5: Guardians. What he may have potentially revealed is quite noteworthy.
According to Colter, Agent Locke will be a playable character in Halo 5: Guardians, but not only that, Agent Locke may be the star of the show for Halo 5. According to Colter when asked if Locke was a playable character he said, “Once Halo: The Master Chief Collection is released, and then Halo 5 comes out shortly thereafter, you’re basically going to be playing a game with me as the primary character. I’ll have some cool weaponry, and some cool abilities, because by that time I’ll be a Spartan IV.”
In a related question regarding the plot of Halo 5, the story may revolve partly around the search for the Master Chief following the events of Halo 4. He was pretty vague on details regarding the subject thankfully as it may be a major plot point in the game.
One has to wonder if we’ll be controlling a multitude of characters in Halo 5 ranging from Agent Locke, to the Arbiter and Master Chief himself. 2015 is coming up quick and we couldn’t be anymore excited to learn more details about Halo 5: Guardians.
Update: Microsoft has commented on this story saying, “As we’ve said before, Locke plays a primary role in Halo 5: Guardians; The Master Chief remains an integral part of the game’s story and as a playable character.”
