Archery Adventure The Pathless Pushed Back to 2020, Gorgeous New Artwork Released

Giant Squid has announced a delay to its archery adventure game The Pathless.

Taking to Twitter today, the team wrote that more time is needed to ensure that the game meets a high quality standard. As such, the title will not launch until early 2020.

To help alleviate the disappointment of this news, the team revealed two new pieces of concept art:

The Pathless was originally revealed during The Game Awards 2018 with a vague 2019 release target. Players take the role of The Hunter, who, alongside their eagle companion, aims to “dispel a curse of darkness that grips the world.”

Giant Squid is drawing from the rhythm genre to give combat a unique flair.

The developer previously created the acclaimed ABZÛ, which Joanna Nelius found “throws you into the deep and tells you to swim, but that is what adventure feels like—excitement of exploring the unknown.”

The Pathless will release on Apple Arcade, PC, and PlayStation 4.
