The multiplayer-focused military simulator Arma 3 has a new single-player expansion, codenamed Old Man, which introduces a more open-world focus.

According to the developer, Bohemia Interactive, the expansion “serves as an epilogue to the story in Arma 3‘s The East Wind and Apex Protocol campaigns.” By employing a more open design, Old Man appears to be an attempt to increase the title’s already impressive scale.

The expansion is still in the planning stages, but single-players can expect some content in the form of the Encore update coming soon. Encore will include new vehicles, ships, radar technology, and weapons, as well as a solo campaign mission.

The developer has opened up the possibility of third-party support for the project, with the first outsourced DLC coming sometime in 2019.
