Assassin’s Creed IV is now rumored to feature a “connected” mode. Even if playing single-player, players can play the game on next-gen consoles in “connected” mode to enhance the experience. Creative Director, Jean Guesdon, stated the following during an internal Q&A:

“Next-gen versions will bring to the players new, connected features allowing them to feel that even if they remain ‘single player,’ it will be better to be a ‘single connected player,'” Guesdon says. “I mean that next-gen Consoles will allow players to have a solo experience that benefits the presence of a huge community.”

This rumor fits well with the idea that the next-generation consoles will be “always connected.” An idea we’ve heard echoed a few times now. We hope to get more info when the new consoles are further revealed at this year’s E3. Until then, keep checking back with
