The first piece of Batman: Arkham Knight story DLC has been announced. Titled Batgirl: A Matter of Family, the expansion will act as a prequel, taking place before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum, the first game in the series.
As implied in the title, players will be in control of Batgirl in “an all-new location with multiple missions, side quests and secrets; a new hacking feature to progress through the world and solve puzzles; and Dual Play functionality with Robin for dynamic take-down maneuvers.”
A Matter of Family will be available to season pass holders on July 14, while everyone else will be able to get it a week later for $6.99. Given the issues with the PC version of the game, the DLC will only be available for Xbox One and PS4. Additionally, this piece of DLC is not being developed by Rocksteady. Instead, Warner Bros. Montreal, the developers behind Arkham Origins, are handling it. However, Warner Bros. confirmed that the remaining season pass content will be developed by Rocksteady.
As part of the Batgirl press release, Warner Bros. also detailed what season pass holders can expect in the future, saying:
“The Batman: Arkham Knight Season Pass includes an exclusive Flashpoint Batman Skin, which is available now, and delivers regular new content for six months featuring new story missions, more Super-Villains invading Gotham City, new legendary Batmobiles, advanced challenge maps, alternative character skins, and new drivable race tracks.”
