To mark the one-year anniversary of BattleTech‘s release, Paradox Interactive and Harebrained Schemes have revealed the first details of the game’s next update.
Set to launch on June 4 and retailing for USD$19.99, the expansion will be headlined by the new city environments.
As should be expected, the change in scenery brings with it novel gameplay challenges, including blocked lines of sight, collateral damage rules, and floods. However, every building on the playing field will be destructible, meaning that units may never be safe.
Coming alongside the cityscapes are a host of additional features, ranging from new technologies that can cloak friendly units and reveal hostile ones to new mechs and enemy vehicles. A new mission type will also be included: Attack and Defend, wherein players and their opponents are locked into a battle to see who can destroy the other’s base of operations first.
This new expansion, ‘Urban Warfare’ is the second to be added to BattleTech, following on from ‘Flashpoint’ last November. Meanwhile, a third expansion title ‘Heavy Metal’ is tentatively pencilled in for a Q4 2019 launch.
