Beyond: Two Souls Playable On Smartphones, Tablets

Quantic Dream’s follow-up to the critically acclaimed Heavy RainBeyond: Two Souls, is shaping up to be one of the games that see out the current console generation, as well as one of the most invigorating ever released. At Sony’s Gamescom press conference it was announced that the game will be supported by an iOS/Android app that will allow the game to be played on smartphones, tablets and other similar devices via the touchscreen.

It will work by connecting to the PS3 through Wi-Fi, meaning that you will still need to be near your system, and gameplay will automatically switch to easy mode with a touch-to-move control mechanic. This functionality is designed specifically for those people to whom a regular controller may not be familiar, and should open the game up to non-gamers.

In addition to this, the game will also feature a co-operative Duo Mode, where the second player will take control of the game’s supernatural entity, Aiden. This, too, will be playable with either tablet or an additional controller.
