It would appear that BioShock may be heading to the PS4 and Xbox One… as well as being re-released on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in one big bundle, as a post on the Brazilian Classification Board, suggests that 2K have filed for certification in the region for Bioshock: The Collection.
Considering all we actually have is a name, the platforms it’s going to be on and a suggested rating of 18+, everything from this point on is pure speculation on my part, but it’s probably safe to assume that the collection will at least bundle together BioShock, BioShock 2 and (hopefully) BioShock Infinite, along with all of the DLC released for each entry of the series.
Will this be a slight remaster job a la Borderlands: The Handsome Collection? Possibly. What is most likely, in my mind at least, is that 2K will simply re-release the games as a big bundle complete with DLC on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC,while porting the PC version to PS4 and Xbox One rendering it in 1080p with the settings turned up to high, and if we’re really lucky – 60fps.
Either way, ratings board listings are usually a good indication of what publishers have in the pipeline, so I guess we can expect BioShock: The Collection (in whatever form it takes) to hit PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC at some point in 2016.
