Almost six months after its initial launch, Layers of Fear 2 has gained a Safe Mode to make it easier.

The new mode comes as a free update to the game, which is intended to enable players to unlock the story “at [their] own pace and unravel the story of our dear actor, and the role of a lifetime.”

The main change of Safe Mode is to remove enemies, though developer Bloober Team has also taken the opportunity to tweak a particular puzzle to enable more players to complete it.

Layers of Fear 2 casts players as an actor who accepts a mysterious role to be filmed entirely aboard an ocean liner, which descends into a psychological thriller experience.

Bloober Team more recently launched Blair Witch on PC and Xbox One.

According to the studio’s website, at least one more project is still in development. That title is Medium, which was first hinted at as early as 2012, but is now apparently targeting a next-generation release.
