Castlevania Requiem

Publisher Konami has announced Castlevania Requiem, a re-release of Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood, for PlayStation 4.

Castlevania Requiem will be released on October 26, 2018. Rondo of Blood was released as a Japanese exclusive in 1993 for the PC Engine CD. The game’s sequel, Symphony of the Night, was released for the PlayStation in 1997, and has since been regarded as one of the greatest games of all time.

Both games are emulated in Requiem, with several upgrades for the console, including 4K/1080p upscaling, high resolution backgrounds, full Trophy support, and better rendering options. The game will also take advantage of the DualShock 4’s vibration and speaker.

The game is now available to preorder on the PlayStation Store. For the latest on single-player gaming, keep up with OnlySP on FacebookTwitter, and YouTube.

Rhain discovered a long time ago that mixing one of his passions (video games) with the other (writing) might be a good idea, and now he’s been stuck in the industry for over six years with no means of escaping. His favourite games are those with deep and captivating narratives: while it would take far too long to list them all, some include L.A. Noire, Red Dead Redemption (and its sequel), Wolfenstein: The New Order, The Last of Us, and the Uncharted series.
