CD PROJEKT RED has released a new development diary, revealing that its highly anticipated RPG Cyberpunk 2077 will be playable on Google Stadia.

With the update lacking for new gameplay, the Stadia news is the main stand out. During the clip (embedded below), several staff members at the studio express their support of how well the game runs on the Stadia.

The diary also raises some of Cyberpunk’s philosophies surrounding humanity and individualism: “If you replace your body with a machine, are you still human? Is it possible to maintain individualism without any human parts? Maybe that individualism is what creates humanity in us.”

In the tabletop RPG the title is based on, players have a humanity meter based upon their cybernetics. Using too many cyber-enhanced parts causes cyberpsychosis, a mental illness that derives from a loss of identity. Cyberpsychosis has not yet been mentioned in Cyberpunk 2077 but could still be announced before the release.

CD Projekt Red is also not shying away from the previous controversy surrounding the project. “There are many scenes that people are going to have very strong feelings about” Kasia Redesiuk, Art Director. Followers of Cyberpunk 2077 may recognise Redesiuk as the designer behind the much-discussed beverage poster featuring a trans model.
