As you may have noticed, The Witcher 3 has been delayed till 2015. Sad face.

But, on the bright side, this has not affected development of Cyberpunk 2077 according to CD Project RED. Speaking to GameSpot, CEO Marcin Iwinski said, “Cyberpunk 2077 is developed by a separate team within CD Projekt Red, so the development of Cyberpunk 2077 is not really affected.”

Currently, there’s two separate teams working on The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, with members moving back and forth to help complete each project. Since The Witcher 3 is the studio’s main focus at this point in time, it’s safe to assume more members are currently working on The Witcher 3 to get the game out the door.

Rest assured, CD Projekt RED is looking to deliver another stellar RPG experience with Cyberpunk 2077 as Iwinski states, “We are working hard to deliver an outstanding RPG…all the learnings on The Witcher 3 are being applied to the Cyberpunk 2077 development.”

Hopefully we get a chance to at least see The Witcher 3 in action at E3 this year with a full gameplay video and not just another trailer. Although, I suppose that might just make the wait all that much harder. Either way, stay tuned to OnlySP for more news on The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 as it’s released.
