Sony Bend’s open-world zombie game, Days Gone, will get a new update on September 13.
On the PlayStation Blog, game director Jeff Ross says that the new update will include new features such as New Game Plus, two harder difficulties in Hard II and Survivor II, and trophies.
New Game Plus will allow players to use previously earned weapons, bike upgrades, NERO boosters, skills, recipes, encampment trust and credits, and collectibles from the beginning of their new playthrough, as well as have trophy progress unlocked.
Perks earned from patches in challenges will continue to carry over to the main game, but now they can be used in New Game Plus on all difficulty modes.
Regardless of the difficulty mode chosen in the previous save file, players can start a New Game Plus on any difficulty, as long as players complete the “I’m Never Giving Up” storyline. Additionally, the new difficulty modes are not specific to New Game Plus and can be chosen on a fresh playthrough.
Days Gone‘s post-launch support started back in June, with the initial wave of new difficulty modes and daily challenges.
OnlySP’s Mitchell Akhurst analysed Days Gone and said that the game is not polished to the standard of Sony Santa Monica, Insomniac, or Naughty Dog, but tries to stand out compared to its PlayStation exclusive siblings. Daniel Pereira discussed how Deacon’s bike is the real main character of the game.
