Dead Island 2 is Still Alive, THQ Nordic States Title “Being Worked On”

Dead Island 2

Dead Island 2 is, ironically, still alive according to its publisher THQ Nordic.

During the publisher’s quarterly financial report, THQ Nordic revealed that Dead Island 2 is “being worked on.” Worryingly, though, no other information was elucidated, with THQ Nordic merely telling viewers to “stay tuned.”

Back in late December, a former developer implied that the project had switched studios to Dambusters. Before then, little to no information came out about the project, with Deep Silver delivering nothing but mixed messages to the fan base.

While THQ Nordic’s comment is a reason to be positive about the title, the project has done little to emancipate itself from its “development hell” connotations. Hopefully, if and when the game does release, it will be more The Last Guardian than Duke Nukem Forever.

Thanks, Is The Message.

Cyberpunk 2077 Will Have Witcher-like Expansions

Published

 on

CD Projekt Red’s UI Coordinator, Alvin Liu, spoke with Prima Games about the future of Cyberpunk 2077 and the possibility of post-launch expansions.

During E3 2019, co-founder of CD Projekt Red, Red Marcin Iwiński, briefly touched upon the existence of DLC plans for Cyberpunk 2077 by disclosing the project’s roadmap. Liu, however, now confirms that there are talks happening within the company about expansions despite the main focus still revolving around the base game. Liu also promises that Cyberpunk 2077 will have a satisfying conclusion that resolves the conflicts presented within the story and that nothing is being intentionally withheld in order to add it as DLC later.

“We want to make sure everything’s complete, but we also want to build open worlds. I know when I was playing The Witcher 3 and I finished everything, I still want to know what everyone was up to,” Liu said. “I think we’re going to have opportunities like that as well for Cyberpunk 2077.”

Liu explains that the expansions for The Witcher 3 helped flush out the open world by focusing on secondary characters from both the books and previous games. In terms of scale, the second and final expansion for The Witcher 3 was as big as the entirety of The Witcher 2, so the possible scope for Cyberpunk 2077‘s post-game content is limitless.
