Blizzard Confirms “Multiple Diablo Projects” In Production, Introduces “Themed” Seasons

Diablo III

In a stroke of unsurprising news, Blizzard has confirmed that it is working on new iterations of the Diablo franchise.

In a video shared on the game’s social platforms, Associate Community Manager Brandy Camel confirmed that “multiple Diablo projects” are in the works.

No solid details on the identities of Blizzard’s multi-project development have surfaced, leaving fans to speculate on various release possibilities. However, Camel teased that fans would not have to wait long to see some traction:

“The forges here at Blizzard are burning hot, and we have multiple Diablo projects in the works […] Some of them are going to take longer than others, but we may have some things to show you later this year.”

This news followed recent rumours of a Diablo III Switch port, which may likely be one of these new projects. Following Blizzard’s successful remasters of Starcraft and Warcraft 3, a classic Diablo 2 remaster is also possible.

In addition, the video detailed the introduction of “themed Seasons.” Blizzard’s thematic Seasons hope to add new twists to the series’s dungeon crawling play.

With a reveal coming this year, all eyes will be on BlizzCon November 2-3. For all the latest from BlizzCon, as well as the world of single-player, be sure to follow OnlySP on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
