Dragon Quest XI Sales Will Determine the Series’s Future in the West

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age sales will need to hit a certain target in order to see Western release in the future.

Producer for the eleventh entry in the Dragon Quest franchise, Hokuto Okamoto, explained to IGN that the classic RPG franchise will need to perform well if Westerners want to see localization in the future.

Dragon Quest XI hit Western shelves earlier this month to favorable reviews, though no sales numbers have been revealed.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age S, the Nintendo Switch port, was also revealed during Tokyo Game Show over the weekend. This new version may not see release more than a year but will come with additional content not included in the original release.
