UK-based indie developer Salix Games has released an announcement trailer for Du Lac & Fey: Dance of Death, a narrative adventure replete with mystery, magic, and murder.

Du Lac & Fey: Dance of Death follows Sir Lancelot Du Lac and his talking canine companion Morgana Le Fey as they seek to lift an ancient curse and explore the smog-shrouded streets of Victorian London. Players will interact with a diverse cast of fully voice-acted characters, seek out clues, hunt for suspects, and make decisions which alter the lives of those around them as well as their own.

According to the Salix Games official website, the title was created with the intention of providing a truly cinematic experience combined with a visually distinctive appearance. Drawing inspiration from the many concept artists the Salix team has worked with over their careers, Du Lac & Fey employs an art style reminiscent of the works of 19th-century painters John Atkinson Grimshaw and James Abbott McNeill Whistler.

Founded in April 2016, Salix Games is headed by creative director Jessica Saunders, a sound designer who has worked on games such as Fable, Kinect Sports, and Batman: Arkham Knight. Together with tech director Ed Reid, writer Philip Huxley, and animator Jessica Ambron, the Salix team members aim to create worlds which beg for exploration and are full of fascinating characters for players to meet. Above all, their mission is to tell great stories and craft meaningful experiences that stay with a player long after the game is over. Du Lac & Fey: Dance of Death is the studio’s debut title.

Gamers can look for Du Lac & Fey: Dance of Death to hit Kickstarter for crowdfunding sometime in the near future.
