Star Wars 1313 was unveiled earlier today and we are all hungry for more details.  In a recent press release, LucasArts provided us with a few more bits of info to tide us over until the gameplay reveal on Monday.

We already know that the game will feature a bounty hunter pursuing his targets through the seedy depths of Level 1313, a criminal organization based below the surface of the Republic capital of Coruscant.  According to LucasArts, the focus is on “epic set pieces and fast-paced combat with a hero who uses human skills and gadgets, rather than supernatural Force powers, to make his way through this dangerous world.”

The game is being developed by a team from across the entire scope of the Lucasfilm organization, including LucasArts, Industrial Light & Magic, Lucasfilm Animation Ltd. and Skywalker Sound.  With this caliber of talent in place, the expectations will be extremely high.  LucasArts is confident they can deliver:

“We’re excited to share one of the projects LucasArts has been hard at work developing,” said Paul Meegan, President of LucasArts.  “Star Wars 1313 dives into a part of the Star Wars mythos that we’ve always known existed, but never had a chance to visit. We are committed to bringing the best gameplay experience and visual fidelity to life and I truly believe the work we are showcasing at E3 will speak for itself.”

If the level of excitement surrounding this game wasn’t already through the roof, that statement should send it soaring.  We look forward to having our minds blown by Star Wars 1313 during the gameplay unveiling on Monday.  Stay tuned to OnlySP for more details.

I'm a new dad, gaming machine, and beard aficionado. With a little one in the house, I've come to embrace the single-player experience, as it is much less likely to send me into a profanity-laced, controller-throwing tantrum. Writing and video games are two of my greatest passions, so this is a natural fit for me. As long as it doesn't require me to perform coordinated dance moves in front of my Kinect, i'm willing to pen my thoughts on it. Aside from gaming, I love music (Smashing Pumpkins), coffee (Red-Eye), and sushi (Yellowtail). All offerings of my aforementioned favorites will be accepted with open arms and, if you're lucky, i'll let you touch my beard. Just don't pull on it. That hurts.
