Something strange has surely happened in the world of PC digital distribution today, with games from a number of companies, including EA, turning up on Ubisoft’s Uplay store. Ubisoft, via a press release, have announced that they will be providing games from:

Electronic Arts
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
1C Company, bitComposer Games
Bohemia Interactive
Encore Software
Focus Home Interactive
Freebird Games
Iceberg Interactive
Nordic Games
Paradox Interactive
Recoil Games
Robot Entertainment
Telltale Games
Torn Banner Studios

Apparently, as an incentive to try the service out, when you spend more than $20US/$24.95AU/$34.95NZ Ubisoft will give you a free copy of your choce of: Driver San Francisco Deluxe Edition, From Dust, Might & Magic Heroes VI Deluxe Edition, Rayman Origins, The Settlers 7 Gold Edition, or World in Conflict: Complete Edition. This offer lasts from now to March 4, if you’re interested.

And, if you have Assassin’s Creed 3 or Far Cry 3, you can redeem all the Uplay rewards for free.

If that wasn’t enough, the Ubisoft press release also mentions that Ubisoft games will be available through EA’s Origin distribution platform, including the aforementioned Assassin’s Creed 3 and Far Cry 3.

A list of the new games on Uplay that Ubisoft provided is below.

“Dead Space 3, Need for Speed Most Wanted… Air Conflicts: Pacific Carriers (bitComposer), Arma 2: Complete Collection (Bohemia Interactive), Batman: Arkham City™ Game of the Year Edition (Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment), Chivalry (Torn Banner Studios), Crusader Kings II (Paradox Interactive), Crysis® 3 (EA), Endless Space (Iceberg Interactive), King’s Bounty: Warriors of the North (1C Company), Orcs Must Die 2 (Robot Entertainment), Rochard® (Recoil Games), The Book of Unwritten Tales (Nordic Games), The Walking Dead© (Telltale Games) and To The Moon (Freebird Games)… SimCity Limited Edition [preorders]”

No mention of Steam. From anyone. Hmm.

Rumor: Next Assassin’s Creed to be revealed next week, set in WWII?
