Final Fantasy XV has been a long time coming. Many years, a name change, a playable demo and plenty of Active Time Reports later and we are finally in the year of release. The incredibly long-running and massively popular JRPG franchise will release its fifteenth flagship title soon, and in March we will find out exactly when.
The game’s very socially active director Hajime Tabata has told the Japanese magazine Famitsu that we will see the ‘real’ Final Fantasy XV in March, along with the announcement. Here is what he said:
“This year is the year we’ll release Final Fantasy XV. Currently, we’ve decided on all of its specifications and the beta version is under production so we can shift into the debug phase. We’ll show the real XV during the release date announcement this March.”
Coming to Xbox One and PS4, the game is already playable from start to finish, with a second playable demo named Episode Duscae 2.0 expected to release before the final product later this year.
