Fan Making GoldenEye Single-Player Remake, GoldenEye 25

Nintendo 64’s licensed darling, GoldenEye 007, is receiving the remastered treatment from a fan in the form of GoldenEye 25.

Ben Colclough is recreating GoldenEye from the ground up in Unreal Engine 4 and calling it GoldenEye 25 to pay homage to the legendary title.

Colclough—as well as a few others—were responsible for an online mod called GoldenEye: Source in the past. The upcoming remaster sounds like a logical step, especially considering GoldenEye: Source’s composer is joining Colclough again.

GoldenEye 25 is set to receive most of its upgrades in terms of visuals, though some aspects of the gameplay could change. For now, the project is only focused on the single-player portion of the game.

Colclough has already released some update videos showcasing the progress his project as made so far. There is no release date set yet, though fans can expect the project to launch in 2022 (at the earliest).
