Halo fans are in for a treat this year if this proves to be true.
According to Engadget, a source has confirmed to them that remastered editions of the original 4 Halo games will be coming to the Xbox One this year in a collection package called, The Master Chief Collection. The source noted that the package would not include remastered editions of Halo 3: ODST or Reach, which is a bit disappointing because Reach was one of my favorites out of the Halo series.
If you missed the news this morning, Halo 5: Guardians was announced and will be fully revealed at E3 this year. However, Microsoft was sure to note that our, “Halo journey” would start this year. General Manager Bonnie Ross of 343 Industries had this to say on the subject.
Many fans noted that I was very deliberate with my phrasing on stage at E3 last year. I spoke about a “journey” rather than a destination – and that journey definitely begins in 2014 with a giant leap, rather than one small step. We’ll give you much more information about our plans for this year at the Xbox E3 2014 Media Briefing on June 9, and we’re confident that “Halo” fans will be pretty excited about the special plans we have in store.
We’ll be sure to keep our eyes out for more information on this as this information once again lines up with NKTRNL’s leak earlier this year which has been correct on a number of stories now at the time of this writing.
