Anyone who has played the Halo titles knows that their soundtracks have a very distinct feel, a wonderful fusion of romantically subdued string pieces and galaxy-spanning bombast. Composer Martin O’Donnell returns for Bungie’s upcoming project Destiny, and his signature style is immediately evident upon hearing the new soundtrack.

Today’s track, titled “Be Brave,” was used for one of Bungie’s behind-the-scenes ‘ViDoc’ videos and will no doubt show up in the full game as well. It captures the sense of discovery and wonder that has helped make the many worlds of the Halo universe, and specifically the crash-landing on the ring in the original Halo: Combat Evolved, so memorable to many gamers. Have a listen below and leave us your thoughts!

The track was composed by Martin O’Donnell & Michael Salvatori, who have previously collaborated to work on past Halo titles. Marty’s LastFM profile can be seen here while Salvatori’s site can be found here.
