Hyper Successful Kickstarter RTS Iron Harvest Signed to Kingdom Come Publisher

Iron Harvest

Following its immensely successful Kickstarter campaign, the alternative history RTS Iron Harvest is set to be published by Deep Silver.

Similarly to the deal the publisher previously signed with Warhorse Studios for Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Deep Silver will handle marketing, distribution, and production.

This set-up ensures that developer KING Art Games retains full creative control over the project. That independence is important, too, as Iron Harvest is billed as an RTS designed around what fans of the genre want.

The key tenets of the project, according to the Kickstarter page, are clever tactics, player agency, and strong single-player campaigns. Meanwhile, the game itself follows the end of World War I, in a world where walking machines designed during the war have been repurposed to aid in everyday life, and the peace may be about to end.

Based on this premise, KING Art took to the game to Kickstarter a year ago, and the almost USD$1.3 million it raised was just shy of trebling the initial funding goal.

The crowdfunding campaign lists a prospective December 2019 release window across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and the new publisher is yet to update this target.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Will Show Unexplored Stories of Secondary Characters

Published

 on

The luminary creator of the Dragon Ball manga, Akira Toriyama, shared new information about the upcoming action RPG, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

Via the Bandai Namco Twitter account, Toriyama revealed that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will depict the backstories of several secondary protagonists. This means that the game will diverge from the story of the manga and give greater insight into Dragon Ball‘s many supporting characters. While a plethora of games depict the events of the Dragon Ball franchise, only a few of them meaningfully expand upon the story’s events, characters, and world.

Toriyama describes Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot as a “fresh new take on the franchise.” Even though Toriyama rarely contributes to Dragon Ball games, he did create much of the lore in the now-defunct MMO Dragon Ball Online, which heavily influenced the story of the Dragon Ball Xenoverse games. While not much information is available about Kakarot and Toriyama’s involvement at this time, the title does have an early 2020 release date and a fishing mechanic.
