Life is Strange 2 Release Dates Confirmed, Will Run Through to End of 2019

DONTNOD has revealed the release dates for the remainder of Life is Strange 2, and fans are in for quite a wait.

The series will continue first in a month and a half, when the third episode, ‘Wastelands’, launches on May 9. After that, the fourth episode will release on August 22 and the fifth and final on December 3.

Alongside the dates, DONTNOD provided a synopsis of ‘Wastelands’, which picks up with Sean and Daniel Diaz reaching California on their journey to Mexico:

“Falling in with a community of drifters on the fringes of society, the brothers are exposed to new experiences, encounter new friends and challenges, and must confront much about themselves in the process. New relationships cause friction between the brothers and raise doubts about their unity. Can they stay together, or will their journey together end here?”

Life is Strange 2 kicked off on September 27, 2018. This season steps away from the story of Max and Chloe from Life is Strange and Before the Storm, following instead the cross-country journey of two brothers.

So far, the individual episodes have been received slightly more warmly than the first of Life is Strange, though some critics have highlighted issues with the storytelling.

OnlySP reviewed the standalone preview episode for Life is Strange 2, ‘The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit‘, scoring it as a Distinction (4/5), calling it “a crafty way to pull at the heartstrings but also introduce the larger mythos of the upcoming season.”

Tim Schafer: No Plans for Brutal Legend 2, but ‘Never Say Never’

Published

Brutal Legend

Double Fine’s heavy-metal mashup, Brutal Legend, has gone some time without a proper sequel and Double Fine head Tim Schafer thinks there is still some waiting to do.

During a press Q&A session at E3 2019, Schafer was asked about the possibility of a sequel to the Jack Black-starring action-adventure game. Though Schafer says Double Fine would like to move on to something new first, a sequel may certainly still happen.

“That’s a fun universe, too, that I’d love to back to, but now we’ve been in sequel mode for a few years and it’d be nice to do something new…but never say never.”

Schafer commented on the possibility of a Brutal Legend 2 two years back, stating that fans will eventually see a sequel. During that same report, Schafer teased that Brutal Legend 2 would be an expensive game to make.

This most recent update at least reaffirms Schafer’s fondness for the series, even if the Double Fine team wants a break from sequels.

Brutal Legend released to generally strong reviews, with many praising its comedy and unique world.
