The demo for the third and final chapter of the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy is now available on both Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.

In this demo,  Lightning explores the Yusnaan palace of Snow, an ally of the heroine from the previous games; players will be able to start figuring out Lightning’s customization options and Square Enix’s “overhauled battle system” for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.  lightning-dazzles-in-new-lightning-returns-final-fantasy-xiii-screenshots-24

If you complete the demo and finish the final fight again Zltys, your score will be uploaded to the Outerworld services, unlocking the “Siegfried” outfit for Lightning Returns when the game launches next month.

In addition, if you download the PlayStation 3 version, you’ll receive the Utsusemi Garb DLC which unlocks the Heavenly Fan weapon and Kaminari shield items.

You can now try out the game on Xbox Live right now but if you are a PlayStation 3 user, the demo will be released later today.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII officially releases for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on February 11th. There is also a collectors’ edition (artbook, soundtrack, pocket watch and Aerith costume DLC) for purchase on the Square Enix Store for $89.99.
