During its press conference at E3 2019, Square Enix revealed the first gameplay footage of Marvel’s Avengers.

The trailer shows new gameplay of the main characters. Check out the full trailer below.

Creative director Shaun Escayg took to the stage to reveal that the game will be “both single-player and co-op.”

The game begins on A-Day, the opening of the Avengers headquarters in San Francisco. However, after tragic events, the heroes are outlawed and the team disbands. Five years later, the Avengers must regroup. Players control the Avengers in an original story.

The actors who portray the five Avengers were revealed during the conference: Troy Baker plays Bruce Banner/Hulk, Jeff Shine plays Steve Rogers/Captain America, Travis Willingham plays Thor, Laura Bailey plays Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, and Nolan North portrays Tony Stark/Iron Man. New superheroes will be added to the game at no additional cost; a final trailer teased the inclusion of Hank Pym/Ant-Man.

Marvel’s Avengers will be released for Google Stadia, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 15, 2020. PlayStation 4 players will receive early beta access and “unique benefits” to be revealed in the future.

Rhain discovered a long time ago that mixing one of his passions (video games) with the other (writing) might be a good idea, and now he’s been stuck in the industry for over six years with no means of escaping. His favourite games are those with deep and captivating narratives: while it would take far too long to list them all, some include L.A. Noire, Red Dead Redemption (and its sequel), Wolfenstein: The New Order, The Last of Us, and the Uncharted series.
