Sony has released several gorgeous screenshots directly comparing the upcoming MediEvil remake to the 1998 original.

Released via the PlayStation blog, the screenshots show a Spyro Reignited Trilogy level of quality. Each of the comparative screenshots demonstrates how much care and effort has gone into the remake.

Characters and environments have been totally remodelled, avoiding the often lacklustre texture reskins some developers opt for.

Developer Other Ocean Entertainment has even re-recorded original scores for the game using the same composers, Bob&Barn.

Much of the original voice cast has also returned. However, the game has a new narrator.

Judging by these new screens, Sir Dan Forteseque has never looked better and will no doubt bring joy to a new generation of gamers.

MediEvil will be released exclusively on PlayStation 4 on October 25, 2019.
