Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord Getting “Some Form of Early Access” and Dynasty System

The highly anticipated Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord will have an Early Access period, though developer TaleWorlds remains cagey on any form of release date for the game.

As part of recent community update, the development team confirmed that an Early Access period is currently being planned, as it “would be beneficial for getting community feedback and balancing game elements.”

Another major piece of information coming out of the update is that players will be able to forge dynasties, as players will be able to assume control over the protagonist’s children, siblings, and nieces and nephews in the event that the character dies. However, the team intends to implement an easy mode that will prevent the death of the protagonist.

The final takeaway may be seen as a downgrade by some fans, though has been made with the best of intentions. Due to technical complexities, TaleWorlds has been forced to drop the castle-building mechanic that had previously been announced. Nonetheless, the description suggests that village building and management will still be available.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord will be a prequel to its predecessor, Warband, though it will retain the highly acclaimed medieval combat, RPG, and strategy elements that made that game so beloved.

OnlySP’s Dylan Warman had the opportunity to try to the title last year, and his thoughts are available here.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is currently without a release date.
