Funcom and The Bearded Ladies have revealed the first expansion for its tactical role-playing game Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden.

The new expansion, titled ‘Seeds of Evil’, begins immediately after the narrative of the main game, introducing new enemies to destroy and maps to explore.

‘Seeds of Evil’ also introduces a new playable character, Big Khan the moose, who has two mutations: Flame Puke and Ground Pound.

The expansion will be released for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on July 30, 2019. Check out the new trailer below.

The Bearded Ladies also stated that the game’s Switch port and physical console release, announced in March to release on June 25, have been delayed until July 30.

OnlySP’s Amy Davidson reviewed the game for PlayStation 4, awarding it a Distinction (4/5) and stating that “The Bearded Ladies has created a clever, fresh take on the turn-based strategy genre”. Check out the full review here. Ben Newman recently spoke to the game’s composer, Robert Lundgren, about bringing the game’s defining features to life through music, and the full interview can be found here.

Rhain discovered a long time ago that mixing one of his passions (video games) with the other (writing) might be a good idea, and now he’s been stuck in the industry for over six years with no means of escaping. His favourite games are those with deep and captivating narratives: while it would take far too long to list them all, some include L.A. Noire, Red Dead Redemption (and its sequel), Wolfenstein: The New Order, The Last of Us, and the Uncharted series.

Cyberpunk 2077 Will Have Witcher-like Expansions

Published

 on

CD Projekt Red’s UI Coordinator, Alvin Liu, spoke with Prima Games about the future of Cyberpunk 2077 and the possibility of post-launch expansions.

During E3 2019, co-founder of CD Projekt Red, Red Marcin Iwiński, briefly touched upon the existence of DLC plans for Cyberpunk 2077 by disclosing the project’s roadmap. Liu, however, now confirms that there are talks happening within the company about expansions despite the main focus still revolving around the base game. Liu also promises that Cyberpunk 2077 will have a satisfying conclusion that resolves the conflicts presented within the story and that nothing is being intentionally withheld in order to add it as DLC later.

“We want to make sure everything’s complete, but we also want to build open worlds. I know when I was playing The Witcher 3 and I finished everything, I still want to know what everyone was up to,” Liu said. “I think we’re going to have opportunities like that as well for Cyberpunk 2077.”

Liu explains that the expansions for The Witcher 3 helped flush out the open world by focusing on secondary characters from both the books and previous games. In terms of scale, the second and final expansion for The Witcher 3 was as big as the entirety of The Witcher 2, so the possible scope for Cyberpunk 2077‘s post-game content is limitless.
