Fatal Frame producer Keisuke Kikuchi would like to revisit the series on the Nintendo Switch.

In an interview with Nintendo Everything, Kikuchi said that he would be interested in working on a new game. He also revealed that his ideal platform of choice for the franchise would be the Nintendo Switch.

“Yeah, I do want to make a Fatal Frame on Switch,” Kikuchi said. “I think it’d be a ton of fun to play with [Nintendo Switch] in handheld mode and moving all around.”

However, any project based on the franchise will have to wait. The producer is currently working on a role-playing game based on the Fairy Tail anime. Kikuchi would also like to return to the Deception series, possibly before starting work on another game.

Fatal Frame first released in 2001 for PlayStation 2. It took seven more years before a title came to a Nintendo platform, and the series has been dormant since 2014’s Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water.
