Super Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai has revealed the upcoming Super Smash Brothers Wii U and 3DS games won’t have any story mode or cutscenes . Sakurai has admitted the reason behind this move is due to fears that the story would be uploaded to the Internet and ruin the player’s experience. Sakurai feels that “you can only truly wow a player the first time he sees [a cutscene]. I felt if players saw the cutscenes outside of the game, they would no longer serve as rewards for playing the game, so I’ve decided against having them.”

Sakurai has said that he plans to have video sequences that will introduce all new characters like Mega Man and The Villager. He also mentioned there will be different stages for the WiiU and 3DS and character customization will also be introduced to the new games.
