Russian indie developer AY Games announced that its story-driven deck-building RPG, Deck of Ashes, is set to hit Steam Early Access in April. The development team has also released a brand new announcement trailer to celebrate.

Set in the Middle Ages, Deck of Ashes plays out across a lavishly hand-drawn, randomly generated open world map, overrun with a cadre of ever more menacing monsters. Once you’ve chosen a hero, you will wage strategic battle against these foes using custom Battle Decks tuned to launch staggering combo-based attacks and crush those in their way.

Deck of Ashes incorporates survival and resource management elements with limited opportunities to restore health or spent cards. The looming specter of permadeath forces players to think strategically and plan carefully, with every encounter potentially ending your adventure.

The Early Access version of the game features a tutorial, 50+ monsters, 100+ unique cards, dozens of camp upgrades, 4 story chapters, and a single playable character. Early birds will also benefit from a lower purchase price. Upon release, the full version of Deck of Ashes will include more playable characters, an epilogue, another monster class, and more cards and talents.

Deck of Ashes is set to hit Steam Early Access in April, with a full launch in the second half of 2019. To stay up to date on all the news and info, be sure to follow OnlySP on FacebookTwitter, and YouTube
