Last week, we reported on a series of tweets that Phil Spencer sent out, noting that Microsoft currently has a lot planned for E3 and that they’re literally having to remove content from the show to fit it in the 90 minute conference window.
Speaking to MCV today, Spencer has given some further insight into what gamers can expect from Microsoft at this year’s E3 press conference. According to Spencer, he’s currently spending “90 per cent of my time looking at our launch line-up for E3 and into the fall, and the line-up of new IP and sequels is really strong.” He continued on to say that E3,” is going to be a great show, packed with games from beginning to end. And then starting in the fall, you are going to see another great list of new IP and franchises coming that will keep gamers excited.”
Phil Spencer was recently named head of the Microsoft’s Xbox department, so it’s great to hear just how focused he is on the core gaming side of things. Microsoft certainly faltered with that late into the Xbox 360’s life-cycle, delivering great quality exclusives in the beginning but not introducing anything new in the end.
What are your thoughts on what Microsoft is planning to bring to the table? There’s pretty good lineup of exclusives already announced for the Xbox One, including Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, the next Halo, a new Gears of War and so on. What do you hope to see from Microsoft at E3 this year?
