Pillars of Eternity II Getting Free Critical Role DLC in Light of Partnership

Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire Critical

The cast of Critical Role and Obsidian Entertainment have released further information on their partnership for the upcoming title Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire.

After last weekend’s reveal that the entire cast of Critical Role—all talented and veteran voice actors—would be voicing characters in Deadfire, Obsidian has gone one step further by revealing that as part of a free DLC, players can download special portraits and voice lines for the party members, which will turn them into the members of Vox Machina, the group of characters starring in Critical Role.

As Critical Role is centred around a Dungeons & Dragons game, in a fantasy setting, putting these characters into Deadfire’s world of Eora seems a natural fit.

A host of tweets from the cast, as well as an announcement on Deadfire’s official website, confirmed that this DLC will be available at launch on May 8.

The response from the Critical Role community seems to have been strong enough that the website for pre-ordering Deadfire, Versus Evil, has been experiencing technical issues.

Digimon Survive’s Stylish Opening Movie Released

Digimon Survive

The opening movie for Bandai Namco’s survival strategy game, Digimon Survive, has been released.

The opening was first shown exclusively at the “Future of Digimon” panel at Anime Expo 2019 back on July 6. The opening shows an earthquake that has hit Kanobe City, as well as some ominous red eyes (presumably Digimon) surrounding an old man in a forest. Near the end, the main character, Takuma, sees a mysterious silhouette of a girl, and the opening finishes with her singing.

Digimon Survive follows Takuma and his companion, Agumon, as they make decisions to stay alive and escape a bizarre dimension.

Digimon Survive will release on PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One in 2020.
