Johnathan Blow’s, The Witness, is huge. Like, I mean HUGE.

Last time we reported on the puzzle count for The Witness it was somewhere in the 500 range. Now the game is up to 621 puzzles according to his latest Twitter update on the game.

In another small, maybe big surprise (?), the developer blog for The Witness teased that the game will have underground caves in the game, and they look quite pretty. You can view the screenshots just below. The developer who posted the blog post didn’t come outright and say the game would have caves, but if the third picture is any indication it looks like it will. Blow still refuses to provide a release date for the game, saying it’ll release, “when it’s done”.

Let us know what you think about The Witness including caves and about that insane puzzle count. Hopefully the developers can keep the puzzles varied and enjoyable otherwise it’s going to be one heck of a chore to get this game completed to 100%. Feel free to discuss the game in our forums as well as we work on building up our community ties there.

  1. Wow-must be difficult for him to remember the solution to each one, even though it’s his game.

    1. well the puzzles are based around figuring out what each puzzle wants you to do, eg connecting dots, or having 2 out of 3 ares on and off, then it gets complicated and mixes stuff.

Basicly you learn the basics and it gets harder each time while you apply the same logic, they are not 100% unique puzzles.

      1. Oh I see. Well I always like a challenge, especially when it comes to puzzles, so no biggie, I’ll surely finish that game in no time once I get my hands on it.
