Psychonauts 2 to Have Special Panel, Demo at E3

Psychonauts 2 will have a special panel and demo at this year’s E3 Coliseum.

According to the official E3 Twitter account, Double Fine studio head Tim Schafer will be at the event, as well as popular streamer and celebrity, Jack Black.

Psychonauts 2 is still being published by Starbreeze Studios, even though the company has suffered financially recently. Starbreeze has already sold off publishing rights of three of its properties: Dead by Daylight, 10 Crowns, and System Shock 3. In an interview with GamesIndustry, Schafer spoke about the consequences if Starbreeze decided to drop the publishing rights to the game, saying:

“I mean, it wouldn’t be good…But the game is funded by multiple sources. We had our crowdfunding campaign, Double Fine’s own revenue, and Starbreeze as a publisher. And they’ve continued to be supportive. They’ve been supporting the game and have pledged they’re definitely still capable of publishing it. So we have high hopes for that.”

E3 Coliseum will also host other panels, including one by Netflix, in which they are set to drop new details about its Stranger Things game.

Psychnonauts 2 is set to release sometime in 2019.

Halo Infinite Creative Director Leaves 343 Industries

Halo Infinite

Tim Longo, the creative director for Halo Infinite, has left 343 Industries.

According to Kotaku, Longo moved to a different role in 343 Industries a few weeks ago and then left the company for good this week.

In his place, executive producer Mary Olson will take over the responsibilities of the Campaign team as the lead producer. The studio head of Halo Infinite, Chris Lee, will still be in charge of the game’s overall creative vision and production.

Microsoft assured that Longo’s departure would not impact the game’s late 2020 release window and will still launch alongside the next Xbox platform, currently codenamed Project Scarlett.

Longo was also the Creative Director for Halo 5, as well as had previously worked on games such as Star Wars: Republic Commando and 2013’s Tomb Raider.

At E3 2019, Microsoft noted that Halo Infinite‘s Slipstream engine will support future Halo entries and that the game will be a single-player game initially at launch.
