Ever watched a high-octane action film starring Sylvester Stallone and say to yourself, “I wish I could actually be playing that”? Then you’re exactly the person Reef Entertainment is aiming to please as they’ve just announced their upcoming title Rambo: The Video Game.

Publisher Reef Entertainment announced today that not only was the game in production, but that it would also be shown at Gamescom 2012, with a playable demo to boot. Commercial Director Craig Lewis had the following to say:

We have been quiet since we acquired the Rambo license last August. During this time we have been dedicated to creating a videogame for consoles and PC that will allow Rambo fans and gamers across the globe to really get under the skin of Rambo and wield his iconic weapon-set in battle. We look forward to sharing more information about the game in the lead up to Gamescom.

Sounds interesting. I recently watched the second Rambo film and found it be good cheesy fun, the perfect kind of experience to base an action game on. While it’s currently unknown exactly what Rambo film(s) the game will cover, you can expect more details in the coming months.
