Welcome to the first weekly edition of Reader Discussion – a social forum in which you, our dear Reader, can sound off about whatever subject we choose for that week.
First of all, with the start of the new year, I’ll discuss what my most anticipated game for 2016 is. My pick is We Happy Few.
Successfully kickstarted in July 2015, the survival game based in 1960’s England looks as intriguing as it does creepy. It has a very Bioshock/Dishonored feel to it and what is particularly anticipating for me is the death system, because if you do happen to meet your death you will not reload a save or get to try again. You will respawn as a new character in a new area in a city where all seems peachy to begin with, but unravelling the mystery behind the citizens’ happiness becomes a twisted and horrific ordeal.
There are other games of course that I’m clamouring for, but most are a sequel of something I’ve already had two or three other versions of (Uncharted 4, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Gears of War 4, and Final Fantasy XV to name a few) so We Happy Few is what I’m looking forward to the most with the relatively small information released, originality, and a personal intrigue in the setting and story.
