Ready or Not, a new tactical shooter in the same vein as Rainbow Six, has been revealed alongside a debut trailer by Void Interactive, the game’s developer.
The game features single-player, competitive, and cooperative modes. The latter two modes can be played with up to eight players. In Ready or Not, players will be part of an “elite SWAT team,” and will be responsible for tackling hostile situations using superior tactics. Environments will be claustrophobic, requiring players to make efficient use of their surroundings in order to both succeed and survive.
Players will have to plan their missions ahead of time, and will have a plethora of lethal and non-lethal tactics available to them. Even the minute details have been considered by Void Interactive, including the ability to control the speed at which gamers open doors to better avoid being taken by surprise. The option to feign injury is also available to players, adding a psychological element to Ready or Not.
Ready or Not sports several more features not discussed here, including a responsive damage system and effects, visceral gore, a simulated and detailed third-person inventory, and a massive selection of items. The game’s official website has all the latest information as provided by Void Interactive
The game’s debut trailer can be seen below. No depictions of gameplay have been unveiled, but given the little information already available, the project sounds both interesting and bold. No official release date has been announced. The platforms on which the game will be available is also uncertain, but given the track record of recent FPS projects, players can presume the game will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
