Red Dead Online Beta

The online beta for Rockstar Games’s open-world wild west adventure, Red Dead Redemption 2, starts November 27, promising players the option to play solo.

Players have had a month to roam the open plains of Red Dead Redemption 2’s impressive rendition of the American West at their own pace, but starting November 27, this all changes. According to the Rockstar Newswire, gamers who purchased the Red Dead Redemption 2: Ultimate Edition are set to get first dibs, with everyone else joining in the days that follow. All players who purchased the game will be able to join the beta on Friday, November 30. The rollout breaks down as follows:

  • Tuesday, November 27: Red Dead Redemption 2: Ultimate Edition owners.
  • Wednesday, November 28: Players who played Red Dead Redemption 2 on October 26th according to Rockstar’s data.
  • Thursday, November 29: Players who played Red Dead Redemption 2 between October 26th to October 29 according to Rockstar’s data.
  • Friday, November 30: All players who own Red Dead Redemption 2.

Rockstar promises that players will be able to play the online mode solo, or form and join a Posse to hunt, fish, visit towns, take on enemy gangs, hunt for treasure, engage other players, and more. Gameplay details are still relatively sparse, though Rockstar says players will be able to customize their character and tailor abilities to suit individual online play style. Stay tuned for more information regarding solo play, and OnlySP’s impressions on the game modes.

Multiple Hirings at Insomniac Games Spark Rumours of Spider-Man Sequel

Spider-Man

Sony Interactive Entertainment has posted an advertisement on LinkedIn for both an audio designer and senior audio designer, sparking rumours of a Spider-Man sequel.

The recent hirings indicate that Insomniac is indeed working on something new for PlayStation fans to enjoy. With Spider-Man being such a massive hit alongside an officially licensed comic expanding on Insomniac’s Spider-verse, players could get a sequel sooner rather than later.

The official job posting requirements for the senior audio designer are as follows:

“Responsible for being an active and key contributor for the creative direction and style for audio assets and workflow processes throughout a production cycle. Creates, edits, and implements game-ready audio. Works closely with the rest of the audio team to maintain a high level of quality and consistency of assets.”

While the job posting does not guarantee a sequel, PlayStation fans can rest easy knowing another juicy exclusive is in the pipeline.
