Gunfire Games has announced the schedule for two free Remnant: From the Ashes content updates: Adventure Mode and Leto’s Lab.

The first content update, Adventure Mode, is set to be available for download on September 12, 2019. The new game mode will allow players to re-roll individual worlds.

According to the game’s website, “[players] can embark on an adventure through dynamically generated Earth, Rhom, and Yaesha, beginning at a single World Stone and ending once you’ve defeated their World Boss. Dungeon locations, points of interest, enemy spawns, and more may be different than what you’ve come to expect from the main campaign.”

Adventure Mode can be activated from the World Stone in Ward 13; once players enter the ‘world settings’ menu and select ‘Adventure Mode’, they can then re-roll the world of their choice. This mode will not replace current campaign progress and can be re-rolled freely without affecting the story.

The second content update, Leto’s Lab, will be a new quest set in Research Station Alpha, and can be downloaded on September 19, 2019.

The game’s website explains that head researcher, Leto Apostolakis, set up the lab for research purposes. However, his experiments with red crystals became increasingly dubious, even before the Root invaded.

“The lab was established to research the mysterious red crystals, with the initial goal of using them as a source of infinite energy […] Leto Apostolakis, theorized the crystals could be used for something else—to bridge space-time for near instantaneous travel.”

The Leto’s Lab dungeon can be found on Earth. The dungeon will also serve the narrative design as it will reveal more backstory about the world. Furthermore, at the end of the dungeon, players will face off against a brand-new boss.

September’s new content updates will reinforce Gunfire Games president David Adams’s belief that Remnant: From the Ashes would deliver true replay value. The ability to re-roll worlds will inevitably lead to multiple outcomes generating new discoveries.
