Get ready to kickstart your bikes! See what I did there? Dan Geisler, programmer and co-designer of Road Rash 1, 2 and 3, went to Reddit yesterday to voice the fact that he’s ready to resurrect the franchise.

A Reddit user posted a picture of the Road Rash title screen and asked why the game hadn’t resurfaced. Geisler himself later chimed in and posted on the thread:

“It hasn’t resurfaced because I was burned out after Road Rash 3. But I’m ready to do another one now. I just needed 20 years off. I’m ready to make a better one now. I miss playing it too. If there is enough interest, Ill do a kickstart on it.”

Geisler then posted a picture of himself with a current newspaper to confirm his identity and silence those questioning him.

“I am who I say. Road Rash was my baby. I will need to talk with EA to get the rights. But I don’t think they have a lock on motorcycle combat any more.”

EA may not have the rights to “motorcycle combat anymore”, but I’m sure they won’t give up the Road Rash series without being compensated. If nothing else this may just put a spark under EA to get the franchise back up and running. And maybe they’ll throw Geisler a bone and bring him on to help. Now, if only we can get Skitchinbrought back…

He hopes to blossom from occasional to full time writer at some point. If he doesn't embarrass himself on this site first...
