Recently, notable gaming auteur Hideo Kojima was interviewed in Dubai for a publication called DVLZ Game. Many bits of info were shared by Kojima, but arguably the most interesting was a hint that the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes could possibly release for next-gen consoles.
Keep in mind that this is a rough translation from the Metal Gear Solid unofficial fansite, but when asked if Ground Zeroes would release for next-gen consoles, he stated that it was “a secret he could not talk about,” later going on to state the following:
We will see about this one day… Maybe sooner than you think.
Take this with a grain of salt. Between the vagueness of his statements and the filter that is translation, this definitely isn’t a guarantee for a next-generation release. However, it’s still very much worth considering. Hence, it’s a rumor.
There remains the possibility that development could have shifted from current-gen platforms to next-gen ones. If that’s the case, it would allow Kojima Productions to incorporate some new tech to decrease load times and connect the open world more seamlessly. That’s just speculation, however.
When Kojima supposedly says “sooner than you think,” that could mean he will reveal important information about the game very soon. Keep your eyes peeled for more Ground Zeroes info and coverage here at OnlySP.
