There’s no doubt that fans of Telltalle’s The Walking Dead are clamoring for a second season of the adventure, and there’s also no doubt that Telltale is hard at work on that very season. Today, it’s been revealed that the follow-up is targeting a Fall 2013 release.

The developer has issued a release to Game Informer today, in which they stated the following:

“The current estimated release window for Season Two of The Walking Dead is for fall of ‘this’ year (2013), and not ‘next’ year (2014) as has been reported after a recent interview. We apologize for any confusion and thank you and all of our fans for your continued excitement for Telltale’s series.”

This was to eliminate the confusion that arose after Telltale’s Dan Connors said during the recent BAFTA awards ceremony that season two would be coming “fall of next year.” Fans can now be excited at the prospect that they’ll only have to wait about half a year for more cel-shaded mouse-clicking action featuring a strong narrative. It’ll be interesting to see how it does against retail juggernauts like Grand Theft Auto V.
