Draugen Console News Coming August, Developer Looking Into ‘Additional Platforms’

Developers, Red Thread Games, reassures fans that Draugen is definitely coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later in 2019 while the company explores other platforms.

Psychological thriller Draugen released on and Steam in May, 2019 with the promise of a console port arriving later in the year. The title is set in an eerily abandoned village in Norway and follows the story of Edward Harden in search for his missing sister, Betty, accompanied only by their ward.

So far, the game has received mostly positive reviews on Steam with many of the reviews commending the stunning scenery. One common complaint, however, is down to the relatively short length with an average playthrough taking roughly three hours to complete. How this short story will translate to console gamers remains to be seen with the company even looking at “additional platforms” as well.

To put it bluntly, a Switch port of the game does seem like a smart move, as the Switch has become home for many indie developers of late with the notion of a short yet stunning game a likely hit.

Last month, OnlySP reported on a sequel that may already be in the works.
