Silent Escape: Induction

Silent Escape: Induction has received its first gameplay trailer, showcasing a gritty FPS in a war-torn city.

This project is an update and expansion of the original 2012 mod for Half-Life 2. The story has been revamped, more maps added, and gameplay diversity improved immensely. The experience is set during the events of Half-Life 2.

To celebrate the trailer’s debut, developer Konstantin Malyavkin from SE Dev Team authored a short statement summarising his journey from making the original mod and his inspiration to keep working on this expanded one.

“It was a long journey of tests and experiments, solving development problems, concepts, prototypes and help of others to bring the project closer to the release. From that moment, we watched many let’s plays and streams of people walkthrough this modification that we watched with great curiosity, and some with laughter. […] All this was inspiring us to move forward. For some of us, the original Silent Escape became a push to get into the gaming industry.”

At the start of the demo, the player character emerges from a bus wreckage into a razed city, almost completely ablaze. The majority of the demo mostly shows the character traversing the map, but, towards the end, some combat and alien enemies appear.
